So what are these 3 core components?
PERCENTAGES! Carefully calculated percentages ensures we have the correct balance of intensity along with the right amount of volume. The first week in The Athletic Strength Blueprint is dedicated to testing. These numbers let us track progress  and provide the percentages that we will use on main lifts throughout!

Focus on ALL PHASES OF MOVEMENT! Movement consists of 3 phases: eccentric, isometric and concentric. Traditional strength training teaches athletes how to expel energy, but little time on how to absorb it. Our program is broken down to focus on each phase of movement. It begins with "building the foundation", learning to eccentrically absorb energy. Then the "energy transfer station", turning absorbed energy into explosive actions. Finally the athlete is "ready for blastoff", learning to maximize force production. It is vital to train all 3 phases to optimize strength, rate of force development and ultimately performance!

EXERCISE CHOICE! We have analyzed sports demands and implemented exercises that develop functional strength that carries over to the field. Our selection includes: compound, single leg, bilateral, multi joint, dynamic, plyometric and medicine ball exercises. Believe it or not most actions on the field are performed with 1 foot in contact with the ground, so we have implemented the right balance of multidirectional single legged exercises throughout the program.
